The members of the Viana do Castelo Lifeguard Station participated in a joint exercise with the WindFloat Atlantic project, of WindPlus, which consisted in the simulation of a rescue, by sea, of an accident’s victim on one of the wind platforms of the WindPlus wind farm, off the coast of Viana do Castelo.
The project, driven by EDP Renewables through the Windplus consortium formed by OW (50:50 joint-venture between EDPR and ENGIE), Repsol and Principle Power, is the world’s first semi-submersible floating wind farm.
The 25-MW WindFloat Atlantic floating wind park located off the coast of Portugal has achieved full operation after the last of three platforms was connected to the grid. The achievement was announced by Windplus, the multinational consortium behind the project, in a statement today.
